I recently went to a music workshop that drummed home the virtues of YouTube as a way of showing the world what’s happening in my musical world…I went home from the workshop and dug up the footage in the clip below…
Originally I was trying to shoot some good footage of a live show, then Crazy Woman stepped in front of the camera and I thought all my efforts were wasted! The footage went in the ‘I’ll never use that’ bin until now…I’ve realised that sometimes the unexpected stuff can turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
Hope you enjoy the clip (and if you do, feel free to tell lots of people about it!)
Gotta check out this little clip on youtube…me and the boys from Red Hot Rhythm making all sorts of noises in the hotel bathroom before the filming of the Australia’s Got Talent grand final!
Local Gold Coast media are getting the word out there about the grand final of Australia’s Got Talent tomorrow night, and my involvement with Red Hot Rhythm.

I thought I’d start blogging about some of the online tools I’ve been using as a DIY musician. I don’t profess to be an expert in online marketing in any way…yet…but I’ve tried out a few things and want to share what’s working for me!
I’ve been using an online service to manage my mailing list for a while now, it’s called Fanbridge and can be found at http://www.fanbridge.com/
Like most of the services I’ve tried the entry level service is free, then you can pay a monthly subscription if you choose to use it more heavily. There’s templates you can use to create your mail outs, or a simple html editor.
It’s reasonably straightforward to use, easy to get addresses into, and it looks after things like unsubscriptions…when someone wants off your list.
If you’re looking for a tool like this, try it out, you’ve got nothing to lose.
